Is there anything better than a refreshing summer drink served straight from an ice bottle? This project was just launched by Coca-Cola in Colombia, where at the beach you can buy the drink in a “glass” which melts in the high temperature, leaving no waste behind. It is possible by filling a silicone mold (shaped like the standard bottle) with water and then freezing it to -25 °C. To enable consumers to use it comfortably, the paper label was replaced with a rubber band which after can be used as a promotional gadget after degradation. Despite the fact that there are voices criticizing the “Cold to the last drop”action (i.e. the ABC News believes that the energy cost of cooling ice bottles of Coca-Cola on a global scale reduce the ecological character of the pack), the ice bottle is becoming more and more popular among Colombians - since its launch there are 265 bottles sold per hour.
