Smelling eucalyptus. Organic cosmetic packaging from Savi.
During this year search for pearls among packaging we have come across unique, organic cosmetics whose packaging labels got nominated in ART OF PACKAGING competition. Although they did not win in their category, they will definitely intrigue many consumers with their exotic story and appearance.
Savi is a family enterprise that flourished in the suburbs of Margaret River in the pristine region of South-West Australia. The owners started the business activity in 2003 from manufacturing organic hair and body cosmetics. Since then, the company has been producing natural goods of healthy qualities and acquiring ingredients from providers marked with the “Fair Trade” certificate. Cosmetics are offered in manually labeled containers. This way, an ethical brand of organic products was established, which in 2011 was granted Australian ACO certificate and has carried its logo on the packaging since then, which confirms its ecological ingredients.
Simply organic Savi’s motto is “wellbeing for everyone,” which is understood as gaining attractive skin appearance owing to extracts derived from lush Australian flora without any chemical enhancers. Unlike natural cosmetics (using this description event if 99% of their ingredients do not come from nature) organic products are characterised by strict requirements (minimum 95% of ingredients from certified intermediates) starting from farming, through plant nutrition, harvest and recycling of production waste. According to the company’s owners such an organic system allows to reduce the economy dependence on non-renewable resources and minimises the risk of human absorption – especially by children and infants – of chemical pollutants added to the “natural” crops (among others: herbicides, fungicides and growth regulators). Despite lack of preservatives, Savi cosmetics can be used up to 18 months after the production date. The product is packaged in high quality PET containers with airless dispensers, decorated with labels on silver and white PP foil,
presenting the human connection to nature with the use of Aboriginal painting.
