After versions with a cupcake, doughnut, éclair, frozen yoghurt, gingerbread, honeycomb, ice-cream sandwich and jellies it’s time for chocolate. Thus, the new version of Google’s operating system Android 4.4. has been given a name after Nestlé’s chocolate bars brand. Why this particular bar? According to Google representatives Kit Kat is their employees’ favourite snack, so it was a natural choice for the next “sweet” name for their products. The cooperation between Google and Nestlé is a classic cross-marketing, i.e. the mutual promotion of products by the companies representing different branches, where very often one of the parties are media. As part of the agreement with Google there is going to be a special edition of chocolate bars in promotional packaging with visualisation of Android 4.4, and the winner of the competition related to this promotion will be rewarded a chocolate Android’s figurine.
