Royal appreciation. Ishida Europe at Buckingham Palace

The Queen’s Award for Enterprise, given to companies with outstanding entrepreneurship and economic performance, was given this year to Ishida Europe. International producer of weighing and packaging equipment received the highest accolade in United Kingdom and North Ireland for increasing its exports as a percentage of total turnover from 65 to 76 percent.

One of the candidate for the main prize in the Woldstar 2014 competition is a project desgined by Turkish company Dervolit Met. Plastic San. Its innovation lies in the clever idea to place a teaspoon of honey directly in the tea spoon

Box for connoisseur. Smurfit Kappa packaging for wine

During the annual wine lovers meeting in SacramentoCalifornia, which took place on 29 and 30 January, the Smurfit Kappa company promoted the latest bag-in-box packaging. Its representatives were presenting the fans of traditional bottled wine the benefits of new solution.

Tea drinking no longer must be boring owing to surprising packaging project offered by Grafanna group. Face images placed on reversible tea boxes depict two opposite emotional states – before and after drinking the flavoured drink.

European consumers are now able to easily spoon or sprinkle their meals using Bart spices thanks to a new deal flip top cap from RPC Halstead. The new closure was developed following consumers research which found that they complained over the uneasy opening of most spice jars.

Under this name hides a new line of cosmetic airless containers from Quadpack company. Single package consists of an outer glass bottle closed with anodized aluminum cap. Yet inside there is a flexible pouch which barrier properties will protect the delicate cosmetic formula from quality loss and extend its shelf life.

 Heinz Glas Działdowo is the first glass factory in Poland and Central-Easter Europe which started manufacturing cosmetic packaging made of opal glass, based on years of experience in producing such packaging in Heinz Group.

Is there anything better than a refreshing summer drink served straight from an ice bottle? This project was just launched by Coca-Cola in Colombia, where at the beach you can buy the drink in a “glass” which melts in the high temperature, leaving no waste behind.

Our answer would be: product and packaging.Of course it’s the packaging that interests most of all, though we are happy to pay attention to the product as well, which is the decisive factor.
