Belgian post “bpost” introduced in March a limited edition of five stamps with the scent and taste of chocolate, which is a tribute to the world-famous Belgian chocolate. The stamps, printed by UPM Raflatac on Tropimatic Chocolate paper, received their characteristic odor by the aroma added to the ink. The taste was obtained by appling selectively cocoa oil to the adhesive and is released from the layer while licking the stamps. “This is the first stamp in the world which, apart from the smell, has also a real taste of chocolate. It is a result of close cooperation between partners from Belgium, Germany, Netherlands and the Swiss unit of UPM Raflatac”- commented Pierre Leempoel, print director at the “bpost” office.
