Producer: Owens-Illinois (bottle); JDA Łomża (label)

The bottle was created for the most demanding consumers who are looking not only for a unique taste, but they want to surround themselves with beautiful, elaborate objects. Fine, decorative embossing, paper label, customized blue volor, silver aluminum closure and slim shape makes the bottle a real table decoration which successfully serves as an elegant decanter. Bottle (capacity 0.7 liters) is made of glass manufactured by OI. The blue color was created specially for Polskie Zdroje company. The packaging has special stamping in which the label is placed. Just like other Polskie Zdroje's products, a paper label was applied here with additional silver ornaments. The closure is made of aluminum cap with a plastic ring warranty. The bottle falls into the category of thin-walled non-returnable bottles, which have all the benefits of glass, what makes the recycling process even more efficient and sustainable, due to the weight of packaging and transport issues.

Kujawska Tradycja (Kuyavian Tradition)

Serie of labels and packaging for regional products

Maja Drążkowska

Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź

Kujawska Tardycja is a line of labels and packaging for regional products included on the list of traditional products. This is consistent, recognizable way to promote the tradition of the region, both in Poland and abroad. Chosen products came from all over the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship and are presented in different forms of packaging. Today, many of these products do not have separate packaging, which prevents it from introducing to the market and contributes to poor visibility. The series includes: jars labels (three types of honey and plum jam), bottle label (two tinctures, Moon licquer, May honey, cabbage juice), bread band, coffee can, dulce de le leche and ammonia cookies as well as matzo from Borowia carton. It is important that the materials used in the project were organic, because the design promotes natural products. Themes used on the packaging are inspired by Kuyavian embroidery that occurs on Kuyavian pinafore dress. The entire project is consistent, uses the same patterns on the labels on all packages. However, after careful observation it turns out that the labels are not identical. Each has an individual character by adding a plant or flower lace on the packaging, which dominates on the label or box. They naturally formed three groups of characters. The first signs indicate from what the product was produced, i.e.a honey maple has a maple flower on it. The second group of characters is used for plant products, such as coffee or cereal bread with sunflower seeds. They appears to have a symbol of sunflower included in the ears of cereal. The third and last group was created for confectionery products in which the clear identification of the plant is not possible. A lace was used in their label, which also occurs in traditional folk embroidery. It is important that standardized packaging symbol of product differ from each other by various elements which emphasize their character as a logo for their product. The reliability of the product and its unique character is guaranteed by the signature of the manufacturer on the back of the label.

We are tempted by their beautiful forms, intrigued by embossed printing made by innovative, cutting-edge technology and by the use of unusual materials.
